Two new York police officers accused of raping 18-year-old girl

Two officers assaulted 18-year-old resident of new York. They detained her for possession of marijuana and prescription drugs, finding drugs in a car in which the girl was with two friends. Releasing the boys, the guards put their companion in the van and drove to the Parking lot. Then they threatened her to the police station and raped — all the while the victim was handcuffed. The incident took place in Coney island on September 15.

After the incident she did not call the police on their own, and hired a lawyer. Exactly a month ago, on 28 September, human rights defender Mr Michael David gave the NYPD a statement against rapists. However, police were reluctant to take action, citing the fact that his client voluntarily agreed to the sexual contact with the officers.

While the suspects are not in a hurry to plead guilty. The lawyer for the Martins said the news Agency that he and his client «look forward to the opportunity to challenge the charges in court.»
