According to the California Department of health, the state has already recorded two deaths from the flu. Earlier it was reported that on 01 December from the disease died a resident of the Northern part of the County of Los Angeles. Data about the second victim of the disease yet. However, this is only the official statistics, experts say. The actual numbers may be different.
The fact that regional health services are required to inform the Department only of the deaths from flu of people under the age of 65 years. And since the disease affects mostly attenuated organisms, in particular the elderly, the exact number of deaths may be much greater.
The flu season in the U.S. lasts from October to Marchand sometimes till may, so the current statistics are only the beginning, fear doctors. The Center for control and disease prevention say that in the coming weeks is expected to increase influenza activity.
The Center also reported that currently, the most effective way to prevent influenza is vaccination. Get vaccinated it’s not too late, so if you have not completed the procedure you should hurry.
