As it turned out, the water was a man. The cops already threw him a lifeline, but drowning was obviously too weak to grasp it.

When Northern decided to climb into the water. He spent in the icy waters of the Hudson, about 10 minutes.

«In the first two seconds I felt the searing cold,» says the paramedic. «But after 30 seconds I realized that my hands and legs almost don’t work».

Drowning was beginning to lose consciousness, he’s obviously got severe hypothermia, but O’shaughnessy rescued man was taken to hospital in a stable condition. It is unclear just how he ended up in the water.
