In the city of Charlottesville, state of Virginia, there were clashes between members of the Ku Klux Klan and its opponents.

Dozens of the ku-Klux-klinovcem yesterday, July 8, took to the streets to March in his famous hoods and flags of the Confederacy. They were surrounded by more than a thousand protesters chanting «Racists go away!».

In the end, clashes and riots, and the police had to use tear gas. Also was arrested about 23 people, said the city authorities.

According to James Moore, one of the members of the clan, «the white knights» of the Ku Klux Klan, whose headquarters is in North Carolina, protested against «the continuing cultural genocide of white Americans.»
«They’re trying to erase us from history books,» said he.

Earlier this week, Moore told The Washington Post, July 8, they gathered for a protest March against the demolition of the statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee from the city Park. On the eve of the March, the statue spoiled the vandals, which only added fuel to the fire. After the riots, the court decided to leave the statue in the Park before the November hearing.

The situation with the demolition of monuments to soldiers-confederates, and the renaming of streetsnamed in their honor, is increasingly discussed in the US (and not always peacefully). So, in Florida two streets, named in honor of the Confederacy, renamed, solved a similar issue in new York.

Ku Klux Klan in Virginia is not going to stop. Following their action in Charlottesville is planned for August 12.
