Generous stranger paid for dinner 25 California fire

The profession of an employee of the fire service has always been considered heroic and revered, especially in the United States. On Saturday, July 8, for five and a half hours more hundreds of brave firefighters trying to curb massive Bush fire in Colton, California.

The flames broke out around 12:30, had spread quickly, and by 16:00 it covered an area of 70 acres.

On a scene of profit five fire-fighting teams from the Colton and the neighbouring town of Loma Linda. They came to the aid of another nine services from nearby subdivisions, and the County Sheriff’s Department San Bernardino sent a helicopter to extinguish the fire from heaven.

Around 18:00, firefighters have fully took control of the situation and stopped the fire. They had to fight the flames at very high temperatures up to 108°F (42°C). Some houses were threatened, but fortunately, none of them burned.

At the end of a long day one of the fire teams consisting of 25 people, decided to fill energy reserves, strength in the local festuge restaurant chain Denny’s. And already there they were waited by an unexpected, but very touching award.

One of the visitors of the restaurant decided to pay the bill for dinner all of the firefighters, who, incidentally, ordered a meal for $355.22, and even left a tip of $50.

But that’s not all: the generous stranger has purchased a gift card in denominations of $100 and asked the restaurant staff to give its next «party» to the firefighters who had to come to Denny’s later. She wanted the money, they ordered desserts.

The waitress was surprised at this gesture of the visitor which wished to remain unknown, and called her act very cute, to which she replied: “No, these people are out there fighting for us and protecting our society”.

According to the same waitress, Margarita Hernandez, members of the fire brigade was overwhelmed and very touchedthat their work has been appreciated.

However, captain Tom Debellis, a representative of the fire Department of Colton, said that such kindness to them is a fairly frequent phenomenon.

“It happens all the time, especially when we work with large fires. People just anonymously donate money to pay the bill. They want to do everything possible to help. In such a small community like Colton, it happens quite often,” he said.
