When trump began to deport fewer immigrants

Not having time to celebrate his victory in the election, Donald trump took up close to illegal immigrants. The policy of the new President was based on the objective to expel foreigners illegally residing on the territory of the USA.

Oddly enough, the effect was the opposite — the number of deportees from the country of citizens has decreased. From February to June, immigration and customs enforcement has deported on average 16 895 people a month — in the last 90 days of the reign of Barack Obama, the figure reached 22 705.

It is noteworthy that this trend began even before Trapp crossed the threshold of the Oval office. At the beginning of this year, the Center for immigration studies found that the number of deportations reached a 10-year low.

Director of immigration and customs enforcement Thomas Homan sees the cause of the situation in the slow work of the courts. His assumption is confirmed by statistical data provided by Syracuse University. According to the survey, in June the number of pending cases has reached 610 thousand.

Such an impressive figure is associated with increases in arrests after the coming to power of Donald trump. Just last month, agents of immigration and customs enforcement detained 13 914 people, or almost 5 thousand more than the averages of the last months of last year.
