About 200 new American citizens has received a welcome package which includes a letter signed by former President Barack Obama. About it reports The Hill.
It was discovered by accident when Aisha Sultan, columnist St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the social network has shared that her husband, born in Britain and taking US citizenship, has received such a greeting. In the folder with the inscription «From the President of the United States» there is a letter in which it said: «We welcome you as a new citizen of our country, and we welcome you to the American family», then Obama’s signature.
Photos of «strange» greetings Sultan has posted on his Twitter page, designating him crying with laughter emojis and the caption: «My husband is British today takes the oath of a citizen of the United States. In the package for new Americans is a welcome letter from POTUS — Obama».
According to The Hill, letters were sent due to administrative error. To date, printed and received by the Service of citizenship and immigration United States new letters from the new presidential administration. The problem is solved.
