Under a new bill proposed as part of increased safety measures for pedestrians, drivers who accumulate five or more fines for violations recorded on traffic cameras over the course of a year can now lose their license for up to six months.
Mainly, the bill will concern those drivers who drive through a red light or at too high a speed — the owner of the car will lose his license, regardless of who was driving at the time of the violation.
This The bill is one of three that will be introduced in the Senate by June this year: two other bills will also be proposed regarding the operation of security cameras near schools — they are designed to increase the number of cameras and their operating hours.
