A couple from Los Gatos, California, made a deal with the court on the admission of guilt.
73-year-old Ralph Flynn and his 44-year-old wife Carolyn Flynn admitted that for 10 years he raped his adopted son, an orphan from Russia.
As reported by SFGate, the boy was adopted when he was 9 years old. Ralph began to make the child violent acts immediately, and when Denis turned 15, her husband joined the wife.
According to the boy, the foster parents were told that doing it «out of love» to him, and he was afraid to confess to someone so as not to get into a shelter for orphans. Only when he turned 19, he told about what was happening in the house of Flynn his friend and former school teachers.
As reported by the district attorney of Santa Clara Oan Tran, Ralph will receive 24 years in prison (for his age is equivalent to a lifetime), and his wife of 12 years.
«I’m not jumping for joy and crying,» says Denis, who now works as a massage therapist and lives in the Bay Area. «After all these years, I just feel like a weight has been lifted, I think about the future, about how I build my life.»
Recall that in 2012, Russia adopted the so-called «Dima Yakovlev law»that banned adoptions of Russian orphans by US citizens.
