Monday, July 31, in the town of Peru, state of Indiana, could happen irreparable: the man was sitting on the railing of the bridge over the Wabash river and was gathering my thoughts to jump down. His death he wanted to show live on Facebook.
Viewers left comments under this stream, was divided into two camps. Some of them tried to dissuade the man from committing suicide, but at the same time, others made sarcastic remarks in his address, thereby podviga him to jump.
Around 19:03 to the local police Sergeant Samantha Raber asked for help the woman who was the sister of this man. She followed the stream, but the impact on her brother she could not.
Together with his colleagues, Kalenom by Pitner and Sean Swynford, Raber went to the location. Officers blocked traffic on the bridge and began to talk with the man. He admitted that he had family problems.
The conversation lasted about 15 minutes. When the man was distracted by your tape to Facebook, Swynford ran up to him from behind and pulled it. The officer risked their lives because any sudden movement could lead to a double death in the river.
Fortunately, the tragedy did not happen. The man was handcuffed and taken to the Dukes Memorial hospital, to assess his mental state.
