Later the Lord explained that it was a mockery of the Nazis, and not imitating them, but CNN responded immediately.

«Nazi greetings there is no excuse. Jeffrey Lord is no longer working for us,» — said in a statement to CNN. In response to this, Lord wrote: LOL!

Jeffrey Lord began to work on the channel in 2015, the contract with him was signed until the end of 2017.

Ana Navarro, another employee of CNN, which broadcast often argued with the Lord, said, «If you work on television, never, never: 1. Don’t quote Nazis. 2. Do not compare anything to rape. 3. Do not compare anyone to Martin Luther king. You’re welcome!».

But the lawyer of many celebrities, Lisa bloom, stood up for the Lord. «I do not agree with him in everything, but it was clearly a joke. CNN fired him over nothing,» wrote bloom on Twitter and he added a PostScript: «I am Jewish».
