The researcher heard «shrill female shout» in the Antarctic wilderness where there were no people at a distance of 2400 km

The Australian researcher Geoff Wilson a few days ago, trying to keep warm in his tent at the top of the Antarctic plateau, when the air is pierced with a piercing female scream.

According to Wilson, he made camp in an abandoned Chinese research station Kunlun, located in the inner part of the Antarctic continent, where temperatures range from -35 to -90 °C.

He knew that the nearest people were at a distance of about 2400 kilometers, he spent almost 40 days, crossing this distance.

The adventurer told the Australian Associated Press, that still doesn’t know what it was. Hallucinations due to fatigue? A vivid imagination? The effects of prolonged isolation? Anyway, a husband, a father, a veterinarian and researcher from Queensland is now ready to go home, not having solved this mystery.

If he gets home safe and sound, it will add another entry to your long list of achievements — the longest ever single polar journey without additional support.
This distance will be around 5600-5800 km, and then the Aussie will beat the previous record of 5200 km.

Breaking the 2,400 km of ice desert, Geoff Wilson will have to return to the Russian Antarctic station «Novolazarevskaya», which he left on 9 November. If all goes well, he’ll be there at the beginning of the new year after a very lonely Christmas.

Geoff Wilson uses this expedition and the previous one, to encourage people to give to the McGrath Foundation Fund, which deals with the problems of breast cancer.
