Disneyland Paris and Disney World in Florida temporarily closed

Company Walt Disney Co will close its theme parks in California and Florida , and Disneyland in Paris this weekend until the end of the month due to the global outbreak of coronavirus.

Disney Cruise Line will suspend all new routes, starting Saturday until the end of the month.

Theme parks of the company in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo have remained closed since the beginning of the year due to the outbreak of coronavirus, which began in China.

Shares of Disney fell by 13% in a day when all major indexes in wall street fell by about 10%.

Note that the Park in Anaheim (California), there was not a single case of the disease COVID-19.

The announcement coincided with the restrictions on public meetings throughout the state, a decree which was issued by the Governor of California Gavin Newsom.

Newsom ordered the ban statewide meeting of more than 250 people, including sporting events, business conferences and concerts, but the Directive did not concern casinos and theatres, and theme and amusement parks.

Disney said it voluntarily decided to close their parks «in the interest of guests and employees.»

As of Thursday, March 12, in California there were 198 cases of coronavirus, including four deaths.

Managed Disney hotels in Anaheim will be open until Monday, to give guests time to arrange trips. The company will pay its employees during a quarantine and to reimburse the hotel charges for booking of hotels.

Prior to that Disney theme parks have only closed due to the hurricane and after the attacks of 11 September 2001.

In February, the company estimated that the stop of the Shanghai Disney Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland will cost $175 million, if both parks will be closed for two months.
