Disney has replaced the greeting at the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom with a gender neutral one

In an effort to become more inclusive, Disney has changed the welcome entry before the fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom.

On Wednesday, June 30, theme park employees were invited to a special preview of the new fireworks display at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. The fireworks themselves have not undergone any noticeable changes, but those present quickly noticed that the greeting before the show sounds different.

The usual «Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls» was replaced with the phrase » Good evening, dreamers of all ages!»

While some were unhappy with the changes, others praised the new version for its atmosphere.

«I like «dreamers of all ages»: it sounds cozy and magical. — one of the users wrote — So cute.»

«If you don’t like a greeting that includes everyone, it says a lot about you,» another noted, addressing his words to critics.

The gender-neutral greeting is just part of the theme park’s efforts to make it more inclusive.

Recently, he changed the Splash Mountain attraction, which plays music from the «Song of the South», criticized for racism. The theme park also promised to remove offensive images from its «Jungle Cruise» — saying it intends to get rid of» negative images «of indigenous peoples, while remaining true to»the experience that we know and love.»
