Flights from new York to London may be much shorter in the near future. Company Boom Supersonic plans to build the planes that will be able to overcome the distance between the two cities within three hours.
The startup company based in Colorado, has finally approached the embodiment of his life-long dream after receiving an investment of 33 million dollars. The money will be spent to build the first supersonic jet XB-1. While it is planned to create a prototype of a future supersonic passenger airliner, but the prospects of a promising project.
«This will be enough to Finance our first aircraft, at all stages of flight tests. Now we have everything we need — technology, suppliers, and capital – in order to move forward to create history and set new speed records,» said founder and chief Executive officer of Blake Scholl.
The company hopes to create an aircraft that will be able to cover the distance between new York and London for 3 hours and 15 minutes, almost twice as fast than is possible today. Estimated ticket price for a flight will be 2500 dollars.
