Meteorologists remind about safety precautions during a thunderstorm. They should be observed even in the case if you wait out the storm at home.

During a thunderstorm you should:

  • close Windows, doors and chimneys, to exclude the possibility of a draft, which can attract a fireball.
  • off of network appliances, to stay away from wiring and antennas, in any case not to use mobile phones.
  • if you were on the street, as soon as possible find shelter. Stay on high ground and in open areas, near metal fences and railings, don’t hide in small buildings and under the tall trees that can strike lightning.
  • in the absence of shelter during the peak of the storm, it is desirable to lie down on the ground on dry soil, remote from the reservoir. Should never run as fast movement attracts the lightning.
