Tropical storm Nate has claimed at least 10 lives in Central America and is moving to the USA

Nate had not yet developed into a hurricane, but has become deadly. Formed on Wednesday a tropical storm triggered severe flooding in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. The authorities of the republics evacuated more than 5 thousand people, however, managed to rescue not all.

As of Thursday night in the region killed at least 10 people. According to the news Agency Reuters, six of them, including two children, were citizens of Costa Rica.

The most significant damage Nate struck the provinces of Guanacaste and Puntarenas.

Costa Rica’s President Guillermo Solis declared a state of emergency.

According to forecasts from Accuweather, the storm will move North. At the moment it is close to Honduras, and the next will be the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula. Already on a Saturday morning, Nate will grow into a hurricane 1 category. Moving in the warm waters, the element can in a matter of hours will increase to 2nd or even 3rd category.

Forecasters fear that the population of Central America, which is a potential affected area will be extremely little time for preparation and evacuation.

Nate poses a direct threat to the United States. Its estimated trajectory is directed toward the border of Mississippi and Louisiana, to which he could come already on Sunday morning.
