July in Death Valley set a world record in the heat

July weather in Death Valley (CA) broke the all American and world records. The heat here reached +42,2°C, and once for 3 consecutive days kept on a mark +52,7°C!

At the same time, 10 nights in a row, the air temperature in the national Park does not fall below +37°C until the sunrise. (By the way, last year’s world record also belongs to the Valley of Death.)

Amazed by the results of observations, a scientist at the University of Fairbanks Brian Brettschneider shared them on Twitter and gave an interview to CNN.

Unfortunately, Death Valley once again lives up to its name. In mid-July from the hellish heat here killed a tourist, and 2 travelers from France ended up in hospital with sun stroke and dehydration.

Has weather and wildlife. In the national Park we found a few dead animals without any wounds — they killed the heat. The administration of the Valley of Death recommended that visitors drink plenty of water and don’t stray too far from the car, as in the Park unstable mobile connection.

Of course, on earth there are places that are inaccessible for measuring the temperature of the air, say climate scientists, and there it can be significantly higher than in the California reserve.

Death valley, located in the heart of the Mojave desert and Great basin, to the South-East of Sierra Nevada, known as area of the lowest point on the earth’s surface in North America. The depth of the valley is 86 meters below sea level.
