The hurricane Michael, under threat of the 4th category will be in Florida in a few hours

Approaching Florida, hurricane Michael has strengthened to a 4-th category. According to forecasts of the National hurricane center that it could become the most powerful of all that came to the coast this season.

The national weather service has described the hurricane as «extremely dangerous» and waits with his arrival the deadly storm surge, damaging winds and strong rains along the northeast coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

If «Michael» will not weaken before landfall, it will become the most powerful hurricane that ever was in Florida for the entire state’s history, according to CNN meteorologist Michael guy. For comparison: in September because of the hurricane «Florence», had struck South and North Carolina with the power 1 category, killing about 44 people.

In the danger zone were more than 3.7 million people Panhandle surrounding the Park and the big bend in Florida, and areas in Southeast Alabama and South Georgia.

Governor of Florida Rick Scott called the hurricane «Michael» «monstrous» and urged people «to get out of the way». Orders for voluntary or mandatory evacuations issued in at least 22 districts on the Gulf coast. In the areas between Mexico Beach and Keaton Beach storm surges can reach 4 m.

According to forecasters, there is a possibility of forming tornadoes in the South-East at the end of Wednesday, 10 October or Thursday, 11 October.

Now «Michael» is at 290 km from Panama city (FL). The wind speed in the center of the hurricane increased to 209 km/h with gusts to 250 km/h.
