In the USA at a ski resort avalanche: is dead

Two people died after they were covered by an avalanche at a ski resort in Idaho. Five others rescued from the scene of the tragedy.

The avalanche occurred at the height of Wagner (Wardner Peak), at a height of 6,200 feet near the ski resort Silver Mountain in Kellogg (Idaho) Tuesday, January 7.

The office of the Shoshone County Sheriff confirmed Tuesday that the mountain recovered the bodies of two dead. Five others were rescued.

«We would like to thank the many volunteers who assisted with the rescue and ski patrol — added to the Sheriff’s office. — We Express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed and injured from this tragic event».

According to preliminary information, on Tuesday morning at a ski resort could occur from three separate avalanches.

Snowboarder blaine Gudner told local channel KXLY that he and his father helped to find those who are trapped. They found one skier partially buried in the snow, and another who was under nine feet of snow in an hour.

«Everybody remained surprisingly calm. It was known how many people on the mountain, so just had to come together and make every effort to find them,» added Gudner.

It is known that the night before avalanching at the Peak of Wardner got about 17 inches of snow.

The U.S. forest service also has issued a warning about the avalanche danger for the Idaho Panhandle National Forests.

Mac Pooler, mayor of Kellogg, said that before the resort went the avalanche, but it never ended with the death of skiers and snowboarders, all done.
