A spectacular eyewitness video filmed during a storm raging in New York captured the moment lightning struck near the Statue of Liberty.
In a 21-second video taken from the dock on Alice Island and tweeted, dark gray clouds can be seen hovering over one of the main attractions of the Big Apple — and the very same lightning that slices through the sky and disappears behind the plinth.
At the moment, more than 1.3 million people have watched the recording.
