A two-stage storm that covered the area tri-state and new York on Friday became the reason of serious problems. He has damaged the power lines, broke hundreds of trees, caused numerous street flooding and resulted in at least one accident.

The storm was the cause of the present waterfall station on the LIRR in Great Neck. A witness to the moment Lori Genser, Burkhoff filmed everything on camera. The woman explained that he was so shocked and frightened of what he saw that he decided to return home earlier than usual because he feared that the trains would just stop coming because of the flooding of the railway line. That’s what the woman managed to get:

In the new York subway is also not without incident. At the station 34th Street-Penn Station the water poured onto the passengers directly from the ceiling. Many people complained that they were forced to buy new shoes and socks on the way to work, as some of the shoes that were on them, just destroyed by water.

By Friday evening in the part of long island was recorded to 4 inches of precipitation. In Bergenfield (NJ) and Stamford (CT) dropped about 1 inch of rain. Similar rainfall was recorded in Central Park in new York.

The storm came in two rounds: the first has hit the tri-state area on Friday morning and the second night, prompting severe thunderstorm and flash flood. People traveling to local airports or leaving them was urged to call a taxi.

One pair in Famingdale (long island) from the car, half submerged by the water, were forced to save with the help of a forklift. About half a dozen cars were in the captivity of the water in Huntington.

In new Jersey a car with a woman behind the wheel just washed out from the road by a stream, in fact, submerging the car underwater. Fortunately, the woman also was rescued by concerned passers-by, whom the media have dubbed a «hero». A man not afraid to dive into the water to help the woman escape from the submerged car.

According to police reports in South Brunswick, new Jersey, caused by bad weather, accident on Route 1 was the reason that the car went off the road into the pond at the curb and 8 feet plunged into the water. But here, the good Samaritan helped the woman-the driver to swim to the surface.

Forecasters reported that despite such an eventful Friday, the weekend in the region tri-state and new York city will be calm and quiet. Sunday will be dry and warm. The beginning of next week too please – the Sunny weather and a temperature around 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
