The attack in Columbia: 3 dead, 11 injured

On Saturday in one of the major shopping centers of Bogota, Colombia, a massive explosion. In the result of incident killed 3 people, including 23-year-old Frenchwoman. Another 11 victims were injured varying degrees of severity.

The incident occurred in the shopping center Andino, located in the heart of the tourist area of Bogota. The cause of the explosion was a bomb placed in the female toilet on the second floor of knowledge.

The mayor of bogotá Enrique peñalosa called the incident a «despicable terrorist act.» Currently, no extremist group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Moscow Prosecutor’s office conducts anti-terrorist investigation.

President Juan Manuel Santos has offered condolences to the victims on his Twitter page.

He was joined by the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, and expressed readiness to provide the Colombian authorities any necessary assistance.

The authorities do not exclude that the attack is the organization of the national liberation army (ELN). In February, the rebel group accepted responsibility for the attack near the Bullring in Bogota. Then the explosion killed one policeman and 20 people were injured.
