7 people arrested after in a network there was video of a mob attack on a woman in Egypt

Seven men charged with sexual abuse of a young woman in Egypt after the video of this incident in the New year, has caused outrage in social networks.

Video, the authenticity of which was confirmed by local police, shows that dozens of men chasing and grabbing the screaming woman on a busy street in the city of Mansoura, while others try to save her.

Authorities say 20-year-old victim was walking with a friend on Tuesday evening, it was surrounded by the crowd. At first the men just shouted after her, and passers-by were trying to protect — and finally she was sandwiched between two opposing camps.

In the video there is chaos. Someone holds sticks and jumping on the roof of the car, some trying to help the victim by bringing her into the vehicle.

After viewing the video frames from the area and interviewing witnesses, police identified seven suspects aged 18 to 20 years, adding that the investigation continues.

Audacious attack raised concerns about the high prevalence of sexual harassment in the conservative Muslim country.
