67-year-old Lorenza Marrujo, who prefers to be called Lady Ninja, neutralized an intruder who broke into a residential complex for the elderly.
Lorenza Marrujo, fragile at first glance, has a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. In her youth, she wanted to become an investigator or a lawyer, and studied law in college. Along the way, a fan of oriental martial arts trained, improving her martial art.
On Monday, when she heard a man break into her home in Fontana, California, the woman recalled forgotten skills and put them into practice.
Lorenza, who told the San Bernadino Sun that she prefers to be called «Lady Ninja», took a baseball bat and told the attacker to «get out» — which he did.
But then the woman heard the screams of her 81-year-old friend and neighbor Elizabeth McCrae. The man burst into the room, grabbed the old woman and threw her to the floor.
Fortunately, Lorenza quickly came to Elizabeth's aid.
Talking about how she stopped the culprit, Lorenza told CBS LA, “I stood between her and him. I pushed Liz aside and jumped on him, started hitting and all that. «
“He got up and tried to twist my hand, but at the same moment I twisted him and turned him very quickly. He shouted, «You're hurting me,» and I said, «I don't care. I don't care what happens to you. You had no right to harm an elderly person. «
“I didn't expect this little lady to be so brave. — says a friend of Elizabeth, amazed at the courage of the neighbor — I told her: «Be careful, he will kill us,» to which she replied: «Not tonight.»
Elizabeth was taken to hospital and discharged the next day, while Donald Robert Prestwood, 59, was arrested on suspicion of elder abuse and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center. He refused to plead guilty.
