Skeletons in the courtyard and cobwebs on the windows on Halloween are no longer surprising, so one artist from Dallas did his best to ensure that his themed installation attracted the attention of neighbors. It turned out ominously — and so much so that the police had already been called to his house several times.

Stephen Novak thought out his exposition to the smallest detail: he splashed 20 gallons of artificial blood, scattered severed limbs and placed in prominent places — including the roof — mutilated «corpses».

“I wanted to do something extremely realistic. Novak told the Dallas Observer, adding that he was always fond of creating eye-catching sculptures and installations. «Something that could really scare people passing by in the dark.»

Now THAT is how you do Halloween right. This guy got the cops called on him several times in Dallas.

He definitely succeeded. Stephen had already twice had to open the door for policemen, summoned by worried passers-by, not to mention the number of times police cars just passed by.

This does not bother the artist at all. He says that some of the officers even thought the set was «cool» and has no plans to stop there.

“To be honest, I think I could have done my best,” Novak admits. — [My plans] were much grander on paper. I'll save them until next year! «
