The number of victims of the coronavirus was replenished by minks: in Denmark 17 million animals will be killed after it turned out that they are carriers of the coronavirus. This is reported by the magazine «More».
The first cases of COVID-19 mutation in minks were recorded back in June 2020, after employees of mink farms fell ill. The country's government reacted categorically to the situation, announcing that it would kill all minks on farms.
“The [mutated] variant of the virus was found in 214 out of 5102 people who were analyzed from June 8 to October 18. — According to the State Serum Institute of Denmark — It was then that there was an outbreak of COVID-19 among minks.
After that, it became known about 12 people infected with coronavirus from minks in 5 other countries: Spain, Italy, USA, the Netherlands and Sweden. A total of 214 patients are known to have been infected from animals.
