Frédéric Desnard of France has become the envy of workers around the world after being awarded $ 45,000 because he “ nothing to do ”in his previous job.
According to France TV, this severance pay package is likely the first “ pay for boredom ” in French history.
Desnard until 2014 worked as a manager of the Parisian perfumery company Interparfums . The man claimed that after the loss of a key client, he was forced to perform monotonous duties of «shifting papers» for four years, which made him «depressed» and for which he was ashamed.
Desnard's lawyers said in court, that because of such work he even suffered an epileptic seizure. Desnard left his job for six months on sick leave due to a deteriorating mental state, and in 2014 a cosmetics company fired him.
