In Denver Uber driver shot the passenger

June 1 in Denver, on highway Interstate 25, the driver of Uber mortally wounded his passenger. As have informed in state police, during a trip between them, a quarrel broke out that led to the shootout.

According to police records, the 29-year-old Michael A. Hancock said one of the witnesses that the passenger, later identified as Hyung Kim, 45, attacked him. The details of the conflict are not specified.

Michael Hancock was arrested, he was charged with murder 1st degree.

During the preliminary investigation, the traffic on the motorway was closed until 8am. On the scene of a shooting found 10 shell casings.

As reported by channel KUSA-TV , the parents of Michael Hancock, in Uber it has been operating for several years, it is his additional income. «He is a husband, father, College student, — told reporters the mother of Michael, Stephanie Hancock. — He works two jobs».

According to parents, their son had permission to bear arms from working in the security structures. Meanwhile, Uber’s policy prohibits drivers and passengers to be in possession of a firearm during the trips.

As reported in USA Today Uber, the company is «deeply concerned» about the state of emergency in Denver: «All our thoughts are with the families of the members of the incident. Access to the application the driver is already closed, we continue to work closely with the police.»
