The fire in Brooklyn: 14 injured, 1 in critical condition

Today in an apartment house in Brooklyn was a fire of the 3rd category, in which 14 people were injured. One of the victims is in critical condition.

On Monday around 4:30 am fire services received a call about the fire on 49th street near 12th Avenue in Borough Park. When employees of the FDNY arrived on the scene, already 3 floors – the second, third and fourth was on fire. An hour later, firefighters got the fire under control.

According to the Deputy chief of FDNY Peter Leichtat least 14 people were injured, one of whom is in critical condition. One resident of the house was trapped in his bedroom, but firefighters were able to save her.

Nine people, including children, climbed up on the roof the four-story building, where they pulled the employees of the FDNY. Now they are all in stable condition.

Leicht reported that the fire originated in the kitchen of the second floor and quickly spread to two neighboring. In connection with the smokiness, the authorities are advised to close Windows in houses nearby.
