20-year-old Cheyenne Harris and 28-year-old Zachary Cohen are charged with first-degree murder of their son, 4-month Sterling Cohen.
As told prosecutors the channel KIMT-TV, 30 August a pair of neighbors from the town of Alta Vista called the police and physicians concerned about the fate of the child, who had not been heard from since.
Employees of the Sheriff’s office found the baby dead in the crib. The medical examiner, immediately went to the scene of the tragedy, found on the clothing and the skin of the baby larvae. At the conclusion of the examination, the boy has not changed a diaper, didn’t bathe and didn’t move out of the cradle during the week.
According to prosecutors of Iowa, the parents denied his guilt, saying that they constantly checked on how the child feels, and he died suddenly.
«The cause of death is failure to provide timely care. The facts of the case are shocking. It is absolutely inhumane,» reads the indictment.
In the court documents there is no information about what Cheyenne or Zachary hired lawyers.
