At Christmas leaves 4 dead in plane crash near Tampa

Christmas morning was marked by a tragic plane crash near the city of Tampa, Florida. Four people, three of whom had each other relatives, died in the crash of a twin-engine Cessna 340.

A small aircraft took off from municipal airport, Barrow at 7:00 but soon caught fire and fell. The pilot and passengers had no chance of survival.

The Polk County Sheriff released the names of the victims, who identified relatives. According to his information, the incident claimed the life of 70-year-old pilot John Shannon, who worked as a lawyer in Lakewood, his daughter, 26-year-old Victoria Shannon Worthington, son-in-law, 27-year-old Peter Worthington Jr. and 32-year-old Krista Clayton, who was a friend of the family.

The civil aviation authority and the national Council on transport safety are investigating the incident. Currently, it is known that the plane took off from the airport in heavy fog, however, it is not clear whether the accident to weather conditions.
