12 suspects in the murder of a teenager, hacked with machetes, appeared before the court

Today, July 18, the hearing of the death of 15-year-old , Lesandro Guzman-Feliz nicknamed Junior.

The brutal murder of a defenseless teenager who is hearing probably every other new Yorker. The community is shocked by the death of Junior, and many concerned demand that the culprit got what he deserved, spreading the boy’s story with the hashtag #JusticeForJunior.

Today, all 12 alleged members of the gang the Trinitarios appeared in the Criminal court of Bronx County. According to police, they face charges in the murder of Junior, 20 Jun pulled from the store, beaten, and then stabbed and hacked with a machete. Detectives believe Lisandro wasn’t the target of criminals and the attack on him was wrong.

Here are the names of all the suspects:

Kevin Alvarez (19 years old), Gwas Muniz (21), Gwas Tavares (21), Manuel Rivera (18), Daniel Fernandez (21), Jonaki Martinez-Estrella (24), Antonio Santiago-Hernandez (24), Alvin Garcia (23), Diego Suero (29), Gabriel Ramirez (26 years), Danilo Pacheco, Luis Santos (25 years).

Almost all were charged with murder in the first or second degree, manslaughter, gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

One of the suspects – Martinez-Estrella, which in 2016 was arrested for robbery and beating of a 14-year-old Golf club was identified by police as the one who slashed the victim’s neck.

According to police, the victim, the teenager participated in the New York Police Department»s Explorers, which helps young people to learn more about a career in law enforcement and dreamed to one day join the NYPD.
