The evening of 10 January, 22-year-old girl, a police officer from the Davis (CA) was mortally wounded in the shootout. According to police, a suspect in her murder committed suicide the next day.

Officer Natalie Crown arrived on a call to the place a car accident about 18:45 when someone from the people nearby pulled a gun and opened fire. From the received wounds the girl has died in hospital. It is unknown whether this was intentional murder or an accident.
The killer was described as a white 20-year-old man of medium build. After the shooting, police learned his address. Guy tried to lure him out of the house and called to surrender. At 1:30, the police announced that the killer shot himself.

Natalie Crown have graduated from the police Academy in Sacramento in July of last year. On 2 August she brought the officer’s oath. She became the first officer Davis, killed in service since 1959. According to colleagues, Natalie was a rising star in the Department who was waiting for a bright future.
