An offender escaped from a halfway house in Los Angeles. Search going

Employees of the Department of corrections and rehabilitation, California (CDCR) announced in tracing the criminal who escaped from a rehabilitation centre in Los Angeles.

January 20 a 32-year-old Randy Rodriguez left the building rehabilitation Male Community Reentry program (MCRP). At 23:10, police received a signal that Rodriguez took off his GPS tracker and left. Within a few minutes the employees of the CDCR were directed to arrest Rodriguez. But an extra search the premises and offender search yielded nothing. The man still remains at large.

Rodriguez 1,79 m tall and weighs 100 kg. he was transferred to the CDCR facility from County jail in Los Angeles November 8, 2017 4-year term of imprisonment for stealing a car. 29 November 2018, Rodriguez was transferred from Calipatria State prison (CAL) in the MCRP.

MCRP offers to some offenders who are serving a term in state prison, be transferred to a special correctional institution. There the program provides prisoners with all means and services required for the transition from detention to life in society. It is a voluntary programme for male perpetrators who have remained at about 12 months. MCRP provides offenders a number of rehabilitation services: help with disorders related to drug and alcohol, psychiatric care, medical care, employment, education, housing, family reunification and social support.

Since 1977, 99% of all offenders who have left the institution, CDCR, was detained. 100% of the fugitives involved in the MCRP, had been returned to the state.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Rodriguez is asked to immediately contact police or call 911.
