In Sri Lanka, several explosions killed at least 156 people, several hundred injured

Easter morning in Sri Lanka began in horror: the country swept by a series of explosions, which killed at least 156 people, several hundred people were injured.

After the first 6 explosions, the authorities have decided to impose a curfew, which was to begin at 18:00 hours, thus the civilians were given 3 hours to reach their homes. But then occurred the 7-th and 8-th explosion and the authorities imposed a curfew with immediate effect «until, until everything is settled».

According to the Minister of defence of Ravana Wijewardene the perpetrators have already been installed. 7th and 8th bombings were committed by criminals while fleeing from the police. 7 the explosion occurred in front of the national zoo in dehiwala-mount Lavinia, a 20-minute drive from the capital of Sri Lanka. Wijewardene calls the terrible events of «terrorist incident» and suggests that it was the work of religious extremists. «We have taken all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of people in the country. We make sure that all perpetrators who were involved in this terrible terrorist incident, will be taken into custody promptly. They were identified and they will soon be taken into custody».

According to Reuters, the Sri Lankan government not only declared a curfew, but shut down access to social networking sites and messaging.
