The nurse broke the newborns legs and skull in intensive care: he faces up to 148 years in prison

A former nurse from Wisconsin , pleaded guilty to the brutal treatment of nine children in the intensive care unit, with the result that they suffered serious injuries, including broken legs and a fractured skull.

44-year-old Christopher Cafe admitted 19 cases of crime, including abuse of children, abuse of patients, bodily injury.

The charges relate to the investigation launched by the police regarding the nicus at the hospital UnityPoint Health-Meriter in Madison (Wisconsin) in February 2018.

Dr. Barbara Knox, medical Director of the Program in child protection at American Family Children’s Hospital said that one boy was 17 fractures, including rib and skull, after he was under the supervision of Cafema.

«These injuries, including head trauma, definitely not inborn, because there was an excessive soft tissue swelling. It looked as if someone had hit him on the head,» said Dr. Knox.

It is believed that Christopher Cafe traumatized children in the period from March 2017 to February 2018. Neither the government nor the accused has not told the public what a nurse was beaten by children.

One of the mothers said that the man often looked and acted as if the baby gave him discomfort.

Catemu faces a maximum punishment in the form of 148 years in prison.

In a statement, the hospital UnityPoint Health-Meriter said that they were «devastated by this accident.»

«We know it’s been a hard road for our patients, their families, our employees. We will work hard to regain their trust.»
