The boyfriend of a mother shot her children because of the fact that they didn’t like that he smokes in the house

A man from Connecticut shot and killed son and daughter of his girlfriendand then committed suicide after a dispute due to the fact that he smokes cigarettes in the house.

The tragedy occurred on Tuesday evening in Watertown (Connecticut). 42-year-old Paul Ferguson shot and killed a 15-year-old Dell Jett and her 16-year-old brother Sterling Jetta, Jr.

Mother of teenagers, Daniel Jett, in desperation, called 911 at 21:45 hours and told dispatchers that her boyfriend opened fire on her daughter and son.

As was reported at the police when they arrived at the call, they saw two bleeding teenagers. The children were taken to hospital, but doctors could only say death.

Earlier in the day della had an argument with her mother about what Ferguson smoke cigarettes in the house.

Ferguson, who was downstairs watching TV, went upstairs, and told Dell to shut up, which led to a quarrel. When sterling tried to stop the dispute, Ferguson pulled out a Glock pistol from the safe in the bedroom and shot the teenagers. Then the man shot himself.

Previously, Paul Ferguson was already brought to criminal responsibility. In 2007 he was accused of sexual assault. He met the mother of the victims approximately two years, and moved in with her about two weeks ago.
Because he was convicted of a serious crime, he wasn’t supposed to be weapons.

Daniel Jett said that he did not know that boyfriend had a gun.

«The death of these children is a tragedy for our entire community and police Department expresses its deepest condolences to his mother, family and friends of the victims,» — said in a statement to the police.
