The man from California died in a hospital on Christmas eve after trying to save his 10-year-old daughter.
The incident occurred at about 12:30 at the State Park camel river.
The girl swam in Monterey Bay, using «inflatable device» — representatives of the state fire Marshal. Soon the father noticed that the girl takes you further out to sea and raised the alarm. The man jumped into the water and began to swim to his daughter. The witnesses told rescuers that after some time the father and daughter began to sink, struggling to stay on the surface.
Soon they were both rescued and taken to shore, but the father, the name and age of which is not disclosed, died in a local hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. The girl is undergoing treatment for possible hypothermia — the message reads.
