Correctional officers of the state new York was beaten by a prisoner serving a life sentence for killing a woman. The actions of the officers led to the suicide guy.
Two sergeants and two employees of Wende Correctional Facility beat 22-year-old Dante Taylor with fists and sticks, and then threw him down the stairs 6 October 2017, according to the lawsuit filed by prisoner’s mother Darlene Taylor. «These officers, they are public servants. They have no right to punish people. They have no right to decide who should be punished and subjected to ill-treatment,» said 43-year-old Darlene Taylor of the Daily News.
The mother reported that the prison staff treated her with indifference in the death of her son.
A 45-page lawsuit filed in Federal court in the state of Buffalo, contains numerous indications that Taylor was at risk of suicide. During the year he was in solitary confinement and abused drugs, he was abused by the correctional officers ignored him and the medical staff. This is stated in the lawsuit, citing medical records, incident reports and stories of prisoners.
Taylor was sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape and murder of a 21-year-old mother Sarah Goode in 2014. He was accused of hitting a girl more than 40 times.

The staff knew that Taylor tried to commit suicide when he arrived in Australia on 17 October 2016, according to the lawsuit. Prison records show he told officers that he tried to hang himself in 2009 and was dismissed from the Marines for a suicide attempt. He also said that a child had been sexually abused.
The lawyers called for a ban on solitary confinement in state prisons, saying that this practice is torture, which increases the risk of suicide behind bars.
