On Wednesday evening, April 29, the tragedy occurred on a flooded road near the community of salt lick in bath County (Kentucky).
As have informed in state police, five children from a family of Amish were missing about 17 hours of the evening after trying to cross a stream of water into a buggy (a small, lightweight off-road vehicle for off-road driving), converted into a horse-drawn carriage.
Adult survived. Later found the bodies of four children. As of the morning of Thursday, 30 April, five children were reported missing.
Search and rescue teams operate on the banks of the Creek near the road blurred. Searches are conducted from a helicopter. To place people with flashlights searched the area.
According to representatives of police of Kentucky, the horse pulling the buggy lost his balance and slipped.
«We heard about what happened and immediately went to the scene on the ATV, told channel WKYT the local resident Missy Mosley. We found the horse and were able to pull her, but couldn’t find anyone else. The water was rushing rapid stream, it was raining».
According to rescuers, the severe weather conditions complicate the search, but they do not intend to stop even at night.
