The sheriff's office refused to disclose the details of the incident, without saying how many people died as a result of the incident, and who first opened fire — the suspect or one of the officers. The authorities stressed that an investigation into the incident is underway.

None of the sheriff's office staff were injured, according to the statement. All officers arriving to the call will be sent on administrative leave while the investigation is being conducted.
