The former psychologist of the Department of the County of Los Angeles a 45-year-old Michael Dane ward was convicted of repeated sexual assault on two young children.
Ward was involved in advising and training law enforcement officers. After his arrest, the defendant was released from their professional duties. It is known that the attack from the ward not connected with his work.
The victims were a boy and a girl who are members of the family ward. At the time of the crime the children were under the age of 10 years, so the former psychologist faces a life sentence. The Grand jury indicted the defendant 4 the facts of sexual assault against the child, the two facts of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 years, three facts oral contact with a child 10 years or younger and one act of sodomy with a child under 10 years.
Two children who had been attacked by ward in the period October 2013 to November 2015, at trial, testified against him.
The next court hearing is scheduled for October 19, where a final outcome is reached.
