As in the United States solved the problem of immigrant children in a previous White house administrations

Lately, Donald trump has faced numerous accusations in the human rights violation and illegal separation of families. A wave of indignation rose after Immigration and customs enforcement (ICE), began to follow a policy of «zero tolerance» against immigrants. Naturally, its main initiator was the President of the United States.

Over the past two weeks , more than 2 thousand children were taken from parents, illegal immigrants detained by ICE. For understanding: in the period from October to March, such cases were recorded only 700. Minors placed in specialized centers, where they await decisions regarding the fate of their loved ones, while the parents of these children all this time are in jail.

However, the supporters of Donald trump as the President himself, deniedthat the current Administration of the White house intentionally divides families. Moreover, the head of state said that, in reality, the blame for these actions lies on the Democratic party. He said this during a speech dedicated to the creation of the Space forces of the United States.

«If the Democrats sit down to work, instead of to interfere with us, we would be able to do something with it very quickly. Something good for kids, good for the country, good for the world. This can happen quickly. We must have an immigration bill, or we will be forced to continue to separate children from their families. USA is stuck in these terrible laws. It’s a dreadful laws, and what happens, it’s very sad, «said trump.

In fact, the US President says that the problem can be overcome only by the Congress. However, the Board previous presidents shows that to resort to such measures is not necessary. In the vast majority of cases American leaders and their administration separated families from each other only in extreme cases and no more than 20 days.

When bill Clinton appeared the so-called decree of Flores, adopted in 1997. It States that minors caught at the U.S. border unaccompanied by an adult may be detained for a period up to 20 days, after which they must be sent to parents or guardians. If there was, the US authorities had to find other «suitable conditions». Trump administration now insists that legislative regulation should be abolished.

As for George Bush, when it was adopted the law on combating illegal trafficking in 2008. It says that children who are illegally in the US from other countries (except Mexico and Canada) without an adult must be within 3 days transferred to the staff of the Ministry of health and human services (HHS).

Predecessor trump, Barack Obama also never experienced any problems with illegal immigrants. Despite the fact that that’s when it Federal court in Los Angeles decided to expand the decree of Flores in relation to children who arrived in the United States with his parents, a year later this decision was cancelled. The court of appeals recognized that children need to release, and they cannot be detained. Please note: we are talking only about minors arriving to the US border with their parents.

In General, political experts note that in any of the three previous presidents were not taken decisions on forced and systematic separation of families-immigrants. The aforementioned laws were enacted to protect children, not to implement a strict policy of «zero tolerance«.
