A resident of Indiana, accused of the rape and murder of his former girlfriend, as well as in cannibalism, «mentally sane» to stand trial, said recently the chief forensic psychiatrist of the state.
35-year-old Joseph Oberhansley from Jeffersonville was treated in a psychiatric hospital from October 2017года, after the court decided: the man is insane, and therefore start trial impossible.
As told to prosecutors, in September 2014 Oberhansli broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend — Tammy Blanton, raped, beaten to death and then ate parts of her body.

«Four years later, the victim’s family finally got the hope [that] justice [will prevail],» said Clark County Prosecutor Jeremy Mull.
Earlier trials of the accused, there have been outbreaks of aggression, also the man called himself «Zeus».
After the recent announcement of a psychiatrist Oberhansli spoke, telling the judge that he will have to change lawyers. According to defendant, «they control his thoughts and mind.»
However, the judge did not accept the arguments Oberhansli and scheduled a hearing for September 21.
Prosecutors have already said they would seek criminal the death penalty. According to prosecutors, before his arrest for the murder of a girl Oberhansli was already on parole for a previous murderwhich he had committed as a teenager.
