In the Evangelical Church Illinois grandiose sex scandal

The founder of Willow Creek Community, and with it the entire Evangelical community of Illinois was at the center of a sex scandal. In April 2018 parishioners accused the 66-year-old bill Hybels of harassment, after which he was forced to leave the post of chief shepherd. Now all the leadership of Willow Creek Community decided to resign.

Willow Creek Community was founded by bill Hybels in Illinois in 1975. Today in Chicago the community 7 churches and about 26 thousand parishioners. At the time, it was visited by the musician Bono and even 42-President USA bill Clinton.

10 April 2018 the chief shepherd Willow Creek was accused of sexual harassment. Hybels called the accusations «blatant lies», but to avoid problems withdrew from the leadership.

Yesterday at Willow Creek Community passed the General Assembly in connection with the scandal. The current head of community Heather Larson made it clear: Hybels will not be back here, But she also decided to resign.

«This is very important. Confidence was destroyed quickly and did not return, said Larson. — We need to refocus… the Challenge for leaders is to really look at things, especially on the leadership and his team».

As Willow Creek Community will continue to exist — not yet known.
