The mayor of Mississippi is willing to pay $10,000 for the criminals, if they leave the city

The mayor of Clarksdale in Mississippi have proposed an original method of fight against crime. He offers the drug traffickers, gang members and other criminals to start life with a clean slate grant of $10,000 from the mayor to move to another city.

At a press conference Chuck ESPI said that the relief Fund for those wishing to move, will be as profound as «the pocket of the mayor.» ESPI says that he is ready to spend their own money to make the city safe, and start with $10,000. This amount must be a weighty argument for those who want to start a new life. The mayor said that in the first place, the program will focus on potential criminals, drug dealers and gang members. In his opinion, the problem of these people, perhaps in a bad neighborhood and they just need to give a chance to go where there will be other opportunities for self-realization.

«But make no mistake, we will converse with everyone [to receive benefits]. And if they are just criminals, drug dealers or criminals, we tell them to get out of town right now.»

The mayor hopes that his initiative will support local business people and philanthropists. Help Fund wish to move only part of the plan of the five stages for reducing the level of crime in the city. It says that criminals have a choice: to become part of the society and work for its benefit, or to leave this place. The plan provides for a zero tolerance policy, the policy of saving lives, a program of rehabilitation and intervention. The chief of police of the city says that in just over a year they managed to reduce the number of homicides from 12 in 2018 to 1 this year.
