In Chicago , the jury delivered a decision on compensation in the amount of 148 million dollars to a girl who was partially paralyzed after being in O’hare airport on her collapsed bus stop.

In August 2015, Tierney Darden, the then – student and dancer, was standing with his mother and sister under the bus terminal at the international airport O’hara in Chicago.

Women hid under a bus stop to hide from a storm of wind, when the structure suddenly collapsed. Sister Tierney and mother were unharmed, and the student was seriously injured. She had severed the spinal cord, and the girl was paralyzed from the waist down.

The trial lasted seven days, and the jury met for four hours, reports the Chicago Sun-Times. When the judge Claire Mak-Wiles announced the decision, Tierney couldn’t hold back the tears.

In turn, representatives of the city said that disappointed with the verdict and will evaluate all of its legitimacy.

«Tierney grateful that the jury could accept the weight of her injuries,» the lawyer said of the girl.
