Trump accused Obama of annexation of Crimea by Russia

The President of the United States Donald trump during a press conference at the summit «the Big seven» again called on to bring Russia back into the G8 and accused his predecessor of Barack Obama to Russian aggression in the Crimea.

«I think it would be good for the world. I think it would be good for Russia. I think it would be good for US. I think it would be good for all countries of the current G7,» said trump.

Russia was suspended from participating in the»Big eight» at the initiative of US President Obama after 2014 annexed the Crimean Peninsula. It was the first violation of the borders of European countries since the Second world war.

But the current U.S. leader believes that Russia is back in the international club, despite the ongoing occupation of Crimea.

«I would say that the «Big eight» is a much more significant group than the Big seven» — said trump.

And when journalists asked him about the situation with the Crimea, he replied:

«You’ll have to ask Obama, because he was the one who let the Crimea slip away. It allowed Russia to take the Crimea. Probably I would have had a completely different position.»

Trump yesterday, 8 June, before leaving for the summit in Quebec voiced his idea about returning of Russia in the G8, but the rest of the band are unlikely to support his initiative.

«We agree that the return of Russia in the G7 format can not happen until, until substantial progress towards solution to the problems with Ukraine. It is the General opinion,» — said German Chancellor Angela Merkel at a press conference on 8 June.
