Nelegalka from Mexico seized at the border 10-year-old daughter with down syndrome

Among the children separated from family on the southern border of the United States, were 10-year-old Mexican girl with down syndrome. This was announced by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Mexico Luis Videgaray.

Now the girl and her brother are in McAllen (state Texas), while her mother was sent to Brownsville, located an hour drive from McAllen. The girl’s father, a resident of the United States, with the assistance of the Mexican Consulate is doing everything possible to return the child to the family.

«This is particularly painful case,» said Videgaray. In total, according to the Minister, he was aware of 21 Mexican child separated from the family when crossing the US border. It’s only about 1% of the total number of children of illegal immigrants, mostly from Guatemala, Salvador and Honduras.

«The Mexican government does not condone illegal migration. But we can not remain indifferent, seeing a clear violation of the rights of the child, moreover, a disabled child,» said Luis Videgaray.

The national society of down syndrome (National Down Syndrome Society — NDSS) stated that it will cooperate with authorities to help the girl.

«Our hearts and prayers are with this child. We will do everything possible to receive the necessary support before to reunite with his father and the rest of the family,» the statement said NDSS.

We will remind, according to rights activists, ICE often resorts to cheating to pick up the children from illegals.
